Building Control Management System (BCMS)

A Commencement Notice is required to give notice to Building Control Authorities of the erection of such buildings, or classes of buildings, or the carrying out of such works, or classes of works, as may be specified in the regulations. The Building Control (Amendment) Regulations SI 9 of 2014 recommends the Building Control Management System (BCMS) site as the preferred means of electronic building control administration.

To apply for a Commencement Notice each party (owner, designer, builder and assigned certifier) to the notice must first register with the BCMS.

Domestic Wastewater Treatment Systems Registration

The Water Services (Amendment) Act 2012 requires water services authorities to maintain a register of domestic waste water treatment systems in their functional areas. The Local Government Management Agency (LGMA) has developed a central on-line registration system and will manage the system on a shared-service basis for the water services authorities.

Under the Act, owners of domestic waste water treatment systems are required to ensure that their systems are on the register. Your registration will contribute to the protection of Ireland's ground and surface waters.
