Carlow County Council is proud to announce the launch of Carlow’s Eco Journey, a new eight-part podcast series that shines a spotlight on the county’s vibrant environmental movement and the inspiring individuals behind it. The series funded by Creative Ireland, will be available on major streaming platforms from Thursday, 9th October, offering listeners a chance to hear directly from local changemakers working towards a more sustainable future.

Carlow Primary Schools Invited to Join Inspiring Literacy Initiative – Right to Read Short Story Competition

Primary schools across County Carlow are invited to participate in an inspiring literacy initiative designed to spark creativity and foster a love of reading and writing among young people. The Right to Read Programme, coordinated by Carlow County Council – Economic Development & Library Service, in partnership with Carlow County Development Partnership, Carlow College, St. Patrick’s, and Carlow Kilkenny Skillnet, is now in its third year and is set to engage 4th, 5th, and 6th class students in a fun and meaningful way.

Carlow County Council Leads the Way in On-The-Go Recycling with New Bin Surrounds Initiative

 Carlow County Council, in partnership with Re-turn—the administrator of Ireland’s Deposit Return Scheme—has installed 25 new bin surrounds across Carlow Town Centre, reinforcing the Council’s commitment to sustainability and cleaner public spaces. The surrounds are now in place across 11 key streets including Burren Street, Hanover Park, and Tullow Street, making it easier for residents and visitors to recycle plastic bottles and cans while on the move.
