National Fire Safety Week Initiative

Local authorities, together with the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service, run themed events during National Fire Safety Week. The events aim to raise awareness about fire safety and prevention in the home and community.

Each year, Carlow County Fire and Rescue Service embrace the National Fire Safety Week by promoting the National Directorate Fire and Emergency Managements national fire safety campaign using national media supported by local fire safety activities.

During this important fire safety event, in addition to newspaper, radio, community newsletters and social media messages, Carlow County Fire and Rescue Service firefighters may visit a selected group of people in each of their fire station areas, run an exercise / fire drill and provide fire safety advice, with the local media invited.

Also, during this week, a fire safety stand can be manned by firefighters in HQ or a public place during busy core hours.
