Tree Management

Local authorities may plant, prune and fell tree in public parks, open green spaces, along roadsides, on roundabouts and in authorised housing estates to protect and maintain them.

An action in the Local Authority Climate Action Plan 2024-2029 is to develop a Tree Strategy to provide the vision and direction for long-term planning, planting, protection and maintenance of trees, hedgerows and woodlands within Carlow Town and County.

This Tree Strategy will provide the vision and direction for long-term planning, planting, protection and maintenance of native trees, hedgerows, and woodlands within Carlow.
