Carlow County Childcare Committee
was established in 2001 as a response to the growing need for the local coordination of childcare in Carlow. The committee comprises of directors and members representing various agencies, childcare providers, parents and organisations in Carlow. The Carlow office is staffed by a co-ordinator, full and part-time development officers, a childminding advisory officer and administration/information officers.

Training
Information on training in childcare in County Carlow. We provide many courses throughout the year and these are all included in our newsletters and event calendars. Please contact the office if you require information on training courses in childcar in Carlow which may be suited to you.
Grant Aid / Starting up in Childcare
Grants are available for childcare providers and chilminders. There are grants avaiable for both community not for profit services, private for profit childcare services and childminders. For further information on starting up a childcare or childminding service, applying for funding, funding criteria or extending your service please contact Lorraine at the number below.
Childminding Advisory Service
The childminding Advisory Officer offers advice and support to childminders or potential childminders on setting up a quality childminding service in the home. other services provided include training, networking, information and grant aid. Please contact Eilish for further information.
Information
There is a resource centre at our office on 16 Dublin Road Carlow. You are welcome to come in and browse through our information. information is available for childcare providers, childminders, parents and students.
Parents Network
We support a parents group and parents of children with special needs group who meet regularly to discuss issues relevant to them or have expert speakers to give a talk on topics relevant to parents. For further informaton on these or to join our paretns groups just give us a call in the office on the number below.

Quality is essential in all childcare settings and we strive to promote good practice in all childcare settings through training, networking and sissemination of information.
