Development Plans
A development plan sets the agenda for the development of a local authority’s area. Development, whether it be residential, industrial, commercial or amenity, must generally take place in accordance with the development plan. The plan is therefore a blueprint for the economic and social development of the city, town or county for which it has been made. The process of making development plans are open, transparent and most crucially, inclusive. All interested individuals and organisations at local, regional and national levels are given adequate opportunity to comment or make submissions for consideration before the policies, objectives and measures to be included in the plan are decided upon.
