  1. [NEW] Carlow Local Authorities Litter Management Plan [ pdf 309kb ]
    In 2010 Carlow Local Authorities published a new Litter Management Plan in accordance with Section 10(2) of the Litter Pollution Act 1997. The Plan aims to build on the experiences and successes of previous plans.

    As you are aware, a decline in the economy has occurred which has led to a serious deterioration in the revenues of the State Exchequer. Spending had been substantially reduced across central Government departments with a consequential reduction in funding for Local Authorities. This factor combined with local issues, has resulted in the most serious financial challenge to Carlow Local Authorities in many decades.
  6. Non principal private residence charges
    At its simplest, the Local Government (Charges) Act 2009 introduces a €200 annual charge on non principal private residences, payable by the owner(s) of the residency to the Local Authority in whose area the property concerned is located.
  7. Maintenance grant applicaion form for 2009-10
    The maintenance grant is the main source of financial assistance and anyone who is thinking of embarking on further study should investigate whether they are eligible and if so, submit an application.
