Time Limits Over Christmas
Please take note that under Section 251 of the Planning & Devevlopment Act 2000, the time period between the 24th of December & 1st of January, both days inclusive, shall be disregarded.
That is to say that all planning application decisions, newspaper notices, site notices, further information, appeals and all other matters under the above mentioned act that have time periods involved, with the exception of Part II of the Act (Development Plans & Local Area Plans), will have 9 days added on to the statutory time limit.
Carlow County Council no longer to carry out percolation tests
In accordance with the Planning & Development Regulations 2006, all unserviced sites must have a Site Charactisation Test carried out and the results need to be submitted to make a valid application. Due to the number of applications it is no longer viable for the council to carry out these tests. We have advertised in the local media requesting any interested parties in carrying out these tests to send us details and qualifications. Following from this we have a list of suitably qualified testers from whom we will be accepting percolation test results for valid applications. This list will be periodically updated. The list is available on the planning forms page of this website
