The Access Officer's are responsible, where appropriate, for providing or arranging for and co-ordinating assistance and guidance to persons with disabilities accessing services provided by Carlow Local Authorities.

Accessibility

The Carlow County Council website follows guidelines on accessibility set out by the World Wide Web Consortium. The W3C, Web Accessibility Initiative produces accessibility guidelines that are an internationally recognised benchmark of accessibility.

In designing this site, we have applied all appropriate Web Accessibility Initiative Priority 1 content accessibility guidelines. All HTML documents on the site validate as XHTML 1.0 Transitional. This ensures they work with a wide variety of browsers. In addition to this, we have provided a number of additional features to make the website more accessible.
