Carlow Local Authorities are the administrative body with responsibility for local government in County Carlow. We play an active role in the development of the County's industrial, business, social, arts, heritage and cultural affairs.

    Notice is hereby given pursuant to the Planning and Development Acts 2000 - 2006, Planning and Development ( Strategic Environmental Assessment ) Regulations 2004 that Carlow Town Council proposes to vary the Carlow Town Development Plan.

    The Members of Carlow County Council and Carlow Town Council endeavour to promote commercial, industrial and general economic activity and thus propose to substantially reduce the contributions levied at projects creating employment.

    Carlow Local Authorities wishes to advise customers of new restrictions to the waste which can be landfilled at Powerstown Landfill and Recycling Centre.

    The maintenance grant is the main source of financial assistance and anyone who is thinking of embarking on further study should investigate whether they are eligible and if so, submit an application.

    Businesses in the catering and accomodation sector ( including bars, hotels, restaurants, canteens, supermarkets and nursing homes ) will be required to segregate food waste as of 1st July 2010.

  10. Non principal private residence charges
    At its simplest, the Local Government (Charges) Act 2009 introduces a €200 annual charge on non principal private residences, payable by the owner(s) of the residency to the Local Authority in whose area the property concerned is located.
